SiteBuddy

Privacy policy

Effective

This policy covers the SiteBuddy iPhone app and this website, sitebuddy.yourproductbuddy.com. In short, the app keeps what you log on your iPhone and sends nothing to anyone, and this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

In short

  • The app stores what you log only on your iPhone. The developer never receives it.
  • No account, no network requests, no analytics, no tracking, no ads and no third-party code.
  • Deleting the app deletes its data.
  • This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other websites. Netlify, its host, keeps technical logs to deliver and protect it.

Who is responsible

SiteBuddy and this website are made by Francesco Recupero, who is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach him at francesco@francescorecupero.com.

The SiteBuddy app

What the app stores

SiteBuddy stores what you enter in it:

  • for each pod: its site, the direction it points, when it was applied and removed, the wear time you planned and your note;
  • for the sites you add: their names, their places on the body map and their directions;
  • your settings, such as your usual wear time, which sites are shown and how many pods the history map shows.

All of it stays on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage. Notes and site names are free text: whatever you type stays on your iPhone with the rest.

What the developer collects

Nothing. SiteBuddy has no account, makes no network requests and contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party code (SDKs). Its privacy manifest, the file in which Apple asks every app to declare what it collects, declares no tracking and no collected data. The developer has no way to see, access or recover what you log.

Permissions

SiteBuddy doesn’t ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, notifications or the Health app.

Deleting your data

You can edit or delete any pod, and any site of your own, in the app. Deleting a site of your own stops it being offered, but its name, its place on the body map and its directions stay on your iPhone, so the pods logged there keep its name in your history. Deleting the app deletes all of its data from your iPhone. The developer keeps no copy, so there is nothing the developer could restore.

Backups and sync

SiteBuddy doesn’t sync with iCloud or any other service. Like other apps’ data, SiteBuddy’s data is included in your iPhone’s backups if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer. Those backups are made by your iPhone and kept by you or by Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy; the developer has no access to them.

Apple

Once SiteBuddy is on the App Store, downloading it is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Apple gives developers aggregate information, such as the number of downloads, that does not identify you.

If you turn on sharing with app developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics about SiteBuddy with the developer, in a form that, according to Apple, does not identify you. That sharing is Apple’s, under Apple’s privacy policy, and you can turn it off there at any time. SiteBuddy itself sends nothing.

Health information

Where you wear your pods can be information about your health. SiteBuddy keeps it on your iPhone and never shares it. SiteBuddy is not a medical device; it doesn’t read from or write to the Health app, and it doesn’t connect to your pod, pump or controller.

This website

sitebuddy.yourproductbuddy.com is a static website: a few pages and images, with no forms and no accounts.

  • No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and uses no analytics or tracking of any kind.
  • Nothing from other websites. Its text, styles and images come from this website itself, so your browser contacts no one else while you read it. Links to other websites take you there only when you follow them.
  • Hosting. The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. To deliver it and protect it from abuse, Netlify processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser’s user agent, and keeps it in server logs for as long as it needs them for those purposes. The developer does not use this data to identify or profile visitors. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Netlify may process this data outside the European Union, including in the United States; see Netlify’s privacy policy.

Email

If you email the developer, your address and your message are used only to answer you, and kept for as long as that conversation needs them. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in answering your request. Email is handled by the developer’s email provider. You can ask for your messages to be deleted at any time. You don’t need to include any health information to get help.

Children

SiteBuddy and this website are not directed at children under 13, or under the higher age that local law may set (up to 16 in the European Union), and neither asks anyone for personal data: the app collects none, and the website has only the server logs described above. A parent or guardian may use SiteBuddy to log a child’s pods: that data stays on the iPhone it was entered on, like everything else. If you think a child has sent personal information by email, write to the address below and it will be deleted.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work or where you believe an infringement took place. In Italy, that authority is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

For the app, the developer holds no data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct or erase: your data is on your iPhone and under your control. You can edit or delete it in the app, as described above, and deleting the app deletes all of it. For emails you sent and for this website’s server logs, write to francesco@francescorecupero.com.

Changes to this policy

If SiteBuddy or this website changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.
